The conveyor supplier should receive the facility’s applicable ESD criteria rather than guess a universal target. Identify where sensitive devices are exposed, how operators and equipment are grounded, and which verification records are required.
If a formal standard or customer specification applies, provide the exact edition and acceptance method. Do not assume that a material described as antistatic, dissipative, or conductive automatically meets the complete process requirement.
Review the entire charge path
The pallet, workpiece fixture, fasteners, wear strips, conveying medium, frame, and grounding connections can all affect electrostatic behavior. Coatings, dirt, oils, humidity, and cleaning chemicals may change performance over time.
Define whether the workpiece must be electrically isolated from the pallet or connected through a controlled path. That decision belongs to the product and process owner, supported by supplier material data and testing.
Make verification maintainable
Specify accessible test points and a repeatable inspection method. Maintenance instructions should explain approved cleaning, prohibited modifications, replacement materials, and the conditions that require retesting.
During factory testing, use representative pallets and fixtures. Site acceptance should repeat the relevant checks after installation because floor, grounding, humidity, and connected equipment can differ from the factory.
